About CurbCulture

Hello, welcome to CurbCulture. We are Kevin and Lee Nicholls, a husband and wife team, and we have been in the clothing industry for over 2 decades.

CURB CULTURE MOTIVATIONS

Our aim is to bring you the same quality ‘Made in Italy’ clothing you can buy in high street boutiques but at more realistic prices. Curb Culture is a street trading pop up stall, not that we just arrive at our destination and it pops up as if by magic…No! It takes a good few hours and dedicated effort early in the morning to get it ready for you.

CURB CULTURE ETHOS

We take pride in what we do. All our clothing has been painstakingly sourced, quality checked, prepped and processed then placed into the van to bring it to you at our latest destination. It all started many years ago in Weston-super-Mare, where we had a small but quirky clothing and accessories shop. At the time our focus was distinctive ladies clothing which remains the cornerstone of what we do today. What the shop allowed us to do was take notes, make mistakes, and fine tune our approach to what we were doing. We experimented with ladies dresses, linen dresses, trousers, pants, tried different fabrics for skirts, top, sweatshirts, coats , jackets, tunics, knitwear, jumpers, and dungarees which now translates to our range of clothing we offer today:- Dresses, Dungarees, Knit ware, Tops, Tunics , different styles of Trousers and Lounge ware.

CURBCULTURE NEW DIRECTION

But over time, what provided a safe environment for creative experimentation became ultimately restrictive, so when the post 2008 period of austerity began with our loyal customers finding it increasingly difficult to spend excess money on clothing, we were really ready to launch in a new direction.

CURBCULTURE NEW APPROACH

What we were looking for was greater flexibility and the ability to be more immediately responsive to our customer’s needs. We needed to lose the high overheads to make everything more affordable for the shrinking budgets. Customer’s clothing tastes were also changing. Women were less integrated in cult brand clothing and trends and now more into functional clothing, day dresses, comfortable wear, ethical materials like liken clothing, on trend like the huge following of easy to wear dungarees, throw on trousers in the form of harem pants and the now latest designs of “the magic trousers “and of course in the current climate, lounge ware.

CURBCULTURE IS FOR YOU

‘Made in Italy’ clothing brings you all these factors, the styles, colours materials and sizes cover a wide range of ladies clothing choices. If you are one of them, then we are here to help you find what you are looking for. We are strongly represented in Somerset and Dorset, so it was important for us to be in;

WELLS MARKET

Wells is the smallest city in England. It can call itself a city because of the famous 13th century Cathedral. It remains remarkably unspoilt and has many other historic buildings including the moated Bishop's Palace, Vicars Close, St Cuthbert's Church and The Wells Market Place, with lively markets twice a week. It is a regional hub for clothing shops and independent clothing businesses. Wells market itself boasts several clothing stands. Curb Culture stands apart in that we carry a large range of clothing. We present our stall just as if you were in a boutique, complete with changing room and mirrors so you don’t have to second guess what our clothing looks like on your individual body. We cater for ladies with fuller figures as well as tradition sizes but just as importantly we offer boutique clothing at realistic prices. You also get to see the people behind the website up close and personal. This Market is open every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the whole year.

STREET MARKET

Long the home of Clarks Shoes, one of the world’s most iconic footwear brands, the village of Street feels more like a town thanks to its size and wealth of shops and outlets selling branded clothing and home ware and lots of dining options. Every Thursday there is a Market on the high Street behind Clarks Village where you can choose from a vast array of Street food stalls, handmade crafts, locally produced cheeses, fruit and veggies, homeware, pet stall, and of course Curb Culture is there with ‘Made in Italy’ ladies clothing, at a much more modest prices than the outlets.

LYME REGIS DORSET

The historic seaside town of Lyme Regis nestles in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at the point where the rugged West Dorset and East Devon coastlines meet – the heart of the Jurassic Coast. Famous for geology and fossils it is a World Heritage Site that remains unspoiled. Lyme Regis is a town where you can escape the pace of twenty-first-century life. With its stunning harbour the Cobb, the man-made harbour that has become a world-famous attraction over the years Curb Culture and Lyme Regis; what can I say?! Unbelievably stunning! The view that we have from the moment we arrive to set up to the time we leave is simply gorgeous. Better than your average office view! We are right on the promenade opposite the beautiful sand and pebble beach. We were on hand all summer to clothe the many sun worshipers, holiday makers and swimmers who visited Lyme Regis. We catered to them selling summer dresses, t- shirts, harem trousers, shorts, tunics, linen dresses, and the laid back comfortable dungarees. We are a much larger stall in Lyme Regis than our other locations due to more space and so therefore we carry more ladies ‘Made in Italy’ clothing. It truly is a destination everybody should visit at least once! Dates vary in Lyme Regis but we do keep you posted on our social; media platforms. Instagram.com/curbculture.stall Facebook.com/curbculture.stall You can now shop from the comfort of your own home with our secure online payment facilities and yes as we are a UK based company.
